Shining Like Stars

Philippians 2:14-16
Do everything without complaining or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure children of God without fault in a crooked and
depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe as you hold on to the word of life…

Have you ever lay down on the ground at night and stared up at those beautiful, bright stars? They are so different than the darkness around
them. Imagine what it would be like if there were no stars at night and it was just plain, boring, darkness.

Now think about this world and all the evil in it. There are so many selfish, ungrateful people living in sin and disobediance to God. This is definitley
a crooked and depraved generation that we are living in.

But what would it be like if we we’re different. If we didn’t complain or argue, if we we’re thankful and kind, imagine the kind of influence we could have.

When people see us, they need to see Christ shining through. In our actions and words we can shine brightly as stars in the sky even though so many around us are just the opposite.

Darkness may be the norm but we don’t have to let it overpower us. So hold on to the word of life and shine for Jesus in this dark world!

There is a great song by Kari Jobe called “We Are”. Click on the link below to see her music video of this song.

  1. This is so true! Phillipians 1:27 says “Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ.” and John 16:33 say’s “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” Things are bound to get worse but we must always have a godly conduct. Thanks for another great post Moriah! May God bless your work!
