I know it’s been a while since I’ve posted. Time has just been flying by. So I decided to write about something that has been on my heart for the last month or so; living in today.
Sometimes we catch ourselves daydreaming about the future or mulling over the past. Yes, the past and the future are both important but what’s more important is how we live our lives today.
Too often, we accept society’s lies that tell us we can’t accomplish anything until we’ve got a college degree.
Movies that tell us we can’t be anyone great until we’ve got a perfect life.
The magazines that tell us we’re not important until we have the perfect body.
The novels that make us think that life doesn’t start until we get married
And our peers who make us feel like were not special unless we’re in a relationship.
There is nothing stopping you and me from being who God calls us to be right now.
God has given each of us a very special gift: this moment. You can’t take it back once it’s gone so what you do in this moment really, really matters.
There are tons of things you could do right now that really wouldn’t improve anything in the long run.
This culture has given us young people so many alternatives to work and productiveness.
I challenge you to go against the culture, don’t let people tell you that you can’t be productive.
Don’t let yourself get discouraged by the apathy of others.
Don’t wait for the future. Your time is now!
Start moving toward your calling today because today is really all you have.
